Nationals Can’t Close Out Astros – The Post
Like many Nats, closer Chad Cordero is having a rough early season. We are a week in and he does not have any saves yet. He blew one yesterday in the tenth inning.
P John Patterson pitched so-so, but kept the team in the game. He gave up homers to Lance Berkman and former Nats Preston “Nothing From Nothing” Wilson, who also learned how to field in the offseason. The Nats countered with a Daryle Ward homer in the 10th, but Mo Ensberg returned the favor in the bottom half of the inning off Cordero. Mike Stanton got the loss by giving up a sac fly RBI in the 12th.
I caught some of the game on the radio. Charlie and Dave 2.0 have zero chemistry so far.

Robinson sits out; reliever appeals – The Wash. Times
Frank Robinson served his one-game suspension for Pedro Martinez’s bean balls yesterday. Reliever Felix Rodriguez is appealing his three-game suspension.
Slow start doesn’t worry Nationals –
The players are not worried about their slow start, but I will bet the front office is concerned. The team has enough bad buzz. In the end, it does not matter that the team has the worst home-road ratio in April and had to play the defending NL champs and an allegedly improved Mets.
