Ortiz Provides a Good Start – The Post
Make it two in a row for Ramon Ortiz, the latest pitcher Jim Bowden pulled off the scrap heap (between vomiting) to pitch well. Over seven innings, he only gave up 1 run to a team that had scored 10 the night before.
After nearly being exiled to the Land of Misfit Toys, Gary Majewski got the heart of the Stros’ order out in the 8th. Chad Cordero came in to Hail to the Chief (according to Distinguished Senators) and got the save. Damian Jackson also went yard again (3 games in a row) as did Daryle Ward and Alfonso Soriano.
I should have been at last night’s game instead of Monday’s. For starters, the Nats showed up last night and they got it all done in just 2:08. I could have been home at a reasonable hour.
