Nats Get 4th Win in 5 Games – The Post
Good things happen when Mike O’Connor is on the mound. Though he did not get the decision, he only gave up a single run. The bullpen held, and a four-run 8th inning (started by a Roy Oswalt balk) put another curly W in the win column. Gary Majewski gets the win, but the four run outburst kept Chad Cordero from getting a save opportunity. Nevertheless, things are looking up. Look for Jim Bowden to take credit for motivating them with his vomiting. Roy Oswalt took the loss for Houston.

It was also a busy day for the new owners. They met with team officials (The Post), the players (The Wash. Times) and city officials (The Post). In the meeting with the District, the new braintrust indicated a preference to build above-ground parking, as oppossed to the underground parking that the city prefers. It seems to me that underground is the way to go, even if it delays the completion of the ballpark. There is only one chance to do it right, better to not waste it. | GRAPHIC

Gonzalez’s Ride Doesn’t Lack Bumps – The Post
Wiki Gonzales is playing like you would expect a guy named Wiki to play, and really, can any of us be surprised he got hit in the head by Preston Wilson’s bat?
Also, tough-guy Jose Guillen scratched his cornea during batting practice and still tried to play. Smart!
