TYSONS, Va. – About a month ago, I was surprised to see some cherry trees in pretty full bloom at Halloween. Maybe at this point, I shouldn’t be surprised that they are still blooming at Thanksgiving. The trees are not as lush with their blossoms as they are in spring, but they have been constant for over a month. They have survived at least two frosts too. I suppose I ought not be surprised if we have them for Christmas or New Year’s too.

This isn’t isolated to Tysons either, I saw a cherry tree blooming near King Street and Braddock Road in Alexandria on Wednesday.
