ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The first “big” snow storm of 2011 left 5½ inches of snow in Alexandria’s West End. More may have fallen, but it appears there was some freezing rain at the end of the storm.

Shoveling out of the parking lot took about 15 minutes and I helped push a Mitsubusi Eclipse out of its spot. Overall, it was not too bad.
