Nationals Hand Giants Eighth Straight Loss – The Post
The un-traded Alfonso Soriano had a big night by the bay with three hits. Austin Kearns also had three hits as the Nats scored 10 runs. Pistachio pitched decently. Ryan Wagner made his Nationals debut in the bullpen and gave up three runs in 1 2/3 innings.

Soriano stayed and there was great rejoicing in the clubhouse and in the hearts and minds of D.C. columnists. There is lots of happy talk from all sides, which is fine for today, but let’s see how much Soriano likes D.C. in the offseason. Is he willing to take a “hometown discount” to stay here? Unless he does, I don’t believe it will make sense to sign him.

Humbled in Minors, Church Finds Groove – The Post
OF Ryan Church has played quite well since returning to the majors a few weeks ago. Whether he can sustain it and gain the respect of his manager and general manager remains to be seen.
