I’ve been tagged to post about five weird things about myself. It is an interesting exercise.

1.) I don’t like tomato products other than Heinz ketchup. The smell of tomato sauce can make me ralph if I am not careful. As a result, I do not care for pizza or italian food.

2.) I love the color blue, especially navy, way too much. The fact that Penn State’s colors are blue and white did help my decision to go to that university — along with all the other things Penn State has to offer. Conversely, I am not crazy about the color red. There are a couple of exceptions — the Nats regular home uniforms and when my wife wears red. Heinz ketchup too. Red is probably Erica’s most flattering color, though she looks great in blue too.

3.) I like the aethetics of New Jersey highways, but some of the things I like about them (button-copy signs, the style of traffic light mast arms, circles) are going away. I also like the granite curbs in many residential areas. Jughandles appear to be here to stay.

4.) I accidentally became a Dallas Cowboys fan when I was a kid. Between that and the no pizza thing, my childhood was sometimes “interesting.” I was a very hardcore Dallas fan for 15 years. After the Cowboys won all those Super Bowls and the players from my childhood moved on, I started to lose interest. The whole “living” big-time college football vs. vicariously experiencing the NFL through TV made a huge difference too. I am now pretty ambivilent about the NFL. I still have not been to Dallas (or Texas) either. I only pretend to care when I can make a “mayor’s bet” with a friend.

5.) I bought a brand new Buick Century in 2003. It is of course, blue.

Apparently, I am suppossed to tag someone too. Let’s go with Tortcaesar and Tom’s Bakery & Circus Rental. One these blogs is actually online, the other needs to be. Maybe when he gets back from Miami.
