‘Superb’ Astacio Stymies Atlanta– The Post
As counterpoint to yesterday’s posting, it’s a glorious when you wake up and learn that you’ve stomped the Braves, 5-0, at home–thanks, in no small part, to pitcher Pedro Astacio for providing us a shutout. (Attendence was down a little, I noticed–24,036 as the home crowd.)

17 Days Till Kickoff!
With each passing day, I get more and more stoked about the start of Penn State football! As not only a PSU alumn but a long-time veteran of PSU football, the anticipation of football season is almost as spine-tingling as a child anticipating Christmas morning. I fondly remember the first game I went to with my father: September 23, 1989, a rainy Saturday against Boston College. We parked in the grassy (muddy) parking lots where the Bryce Jordan Center now sits, and watched the Nittany Lions gain a 7-3 victory over the Eagles. And now, 17 years and a PSU degree later, the excitement is beginning to brew for Labor Day weekend.
With that in mind, here are a few PSU football articles.
From The Patriot News:

– Tight end brings Nittany Lions’ verbals to dozen
– Pete Harris, former PSU player, dies
From The Centre Daily Times:
