Nats’ Winning Streak Ends at 5 – The Post
Riding high after winning five in a row, the Nats sent Pistachio out to face St. Louis in game two of a three game series. As to be expected, he was victimized by another 1B Albert Pujols homer which proved to be the margin of defeat. Another run got in later in the evening due to some poor fielding by Bernie Castro.
In both the 8th and 9th innings the Nats had the winning run at the plate, but come could through neither time. It was an exciting game nevertheless, despite all of those Cardinals fans in the stands.
CrashRiley hooked me up with a ticket and a chance to go to a season ticketholders’ meeting with Stan Kasten. I will write about that later today.
More from The Wash. Times: Cards don’t fall right for Nats
Boxscore – ESPN
Take your pick which “Mike O’Connor is back” story do you want to read; the one from The Post or the one from The Wash. Times. Also, draft pick Sean Black, who has a scholarship to Seton Hall University, did not attend classes yesterday, leaving the door open for the Nats to sign him. The second he sits down for a class as a scholarship athlete, the Nats lose rights to him.
