All the chatter I have been hearing about John Beck (DC Sports Bog, The Post), the Washington Redskins quarterback who has taken a leadership role during the NFL lockout reminds me of something or somebody. A third-stringer thrust into the role of starter, said to have the confidence of his teammates and a tendency toward confident descriptions of himself when talking with local media.
