With the Detroit Tigers clinching their first playoff birth in 19 years, Penn State is on step closer to having their Oct. 7 football game at Minnesota moved to Nov. 25. Right now the Tigers have a 1½ game lead over the Twins for the division. If the Tigers hold on this week, the Twins, baring a historic collapse, will get the Wild Card and a home game on Oct. 7. I am in favor of this scenario, since it gives Penn State a bye week and frees up my schedule for the Capitals home opener.
