Penn State adds Pitt to 2016-2017 football schedules

Penn State and Pitt to Renew Football Rivalry in 2016-17 – Intercollegiate Athletics
Th ePenn State Nittany Lions will play Pitt Panthers in a home and home football series starting in 2016 at Heinz Field (approximately 65,000 which they will actually sell out for a change) in Pittsburgh and concluding in 2017 at Beaver Stadium (approx. 110,000) in University Park. This has no doubt excited Western Pennsylvanians and Pitt alumni who have long wanted the series to resume. The rest of us — hey, its a road game within driving distance of Happy Valley. I have updated my future Penn State Football schedules page with this new information.

I am disappointed that Penn State athletic director Tim Curley settled for a home-and-home. Pitt has hosted about 70 of the 96 games between the two programs. Curley should played hardball and held out for 2 for 1. If Pitt (aka Temple West) didn’t like it, publicly call them out as hypocrites.

Hopefully, Penn Staters will be able to get tickets for the game without having to buy for other games. If they want to play 1 for 1, they ought to charge for just this game. If Curley didn’t get that in the contract, he’s an idiot.

Oh and I’d like to ask the former Maryland Bureau Chief if we can crash with him on the weekend September 10, 2016. As

Wikipedia entry on the series — they got the name backwards.
