The Washington Nationals just won their sixth game in a row. The swept the St. Louis Cardinals (winning that season series) and scored more than 7 runs for the third night in a row. They improved their record to 33-36. They moved into 4th place. This is a great week, but I want more, much more.
I also want embeddable video from MLB.com. Seriously, guys we’re in 2011, let me embed stuff like Danny Espinosa’s 10th inning walk-off home run or John Lannan’s sweet 1-4-3 double-play (poor guy pitched well, but got another no-decision). I loved the Gatorade bath that Espinosa got (The Nats Enquirer) too.
The Battle of the Beltways resumes this weekend. The Baltimore Orioles come down the B/W Parkway for three games. I want this series bad, real bad. I’ve gone over countless times how the Orioles and their owner Peter Angelos tried to keep D.C. from getting a team and when they couldn’t do that, they kept them off TV and when he couldn’t do that, did a really bad job of it.
So, I full expect the Nats to lose the series, possibly even get swept. One thing is certain though, the bad luck I’ve been carrying with me in 2011 won’t be at the ballpark. I’m 0-3 in person this season, but I can’t go this weekend. Next Thursday is looking good though.
