Penn State vs. Alabama is a 3:30 kickoff. I expected it to be a night game and even had a long post written up about it after I saw a few blogs pointing out that the White Out would intimidate the Crimson Tide and be worth 10-14 points. My response was something along the lines of:
IT IS TIME FOR PENN STATERS TO GIVE UP THE WHITE OUT MYTH
I have said that before, almost 2 years ago.
Penn State’s primetime WHITEHOUSE record is 2-3. It helped in 2005 but not since then. Just because Guido D’Elia says its awesome doesn’t make it so. Penn State’s Beaver Stadium night game record since 2000 is a mere 4-4.
Also, Alabama travels to a place called Baton Rouge bi-annually, so they might be used to hostile environments.
I was able to get tickets to Penn State at Temple — the public sale starts soon. I was kind of surprised how uninterested friends were in going to a Penn State road game closer than Happy Valley. I’ll be there though. I don’t know if we’ll make any home games though. I was thinking about the opener against Indiana State, but that’s just so a bad, bad matchup that I don’t know if I can justify it.
The new jerseys don’t look as good as the old ones. Bring back the white trim!
