Piniella Rules Out Nationals – The Post
Lou Pinella has removed himself from consideration for the Nationals position because he thinks he has a shot at the Yankees job, even though Joe Torre has not been fired yet. I am greeting this with a sigh of relief since Pinella flamed out in Tampa Bay because he was impatient with the young team.
Remaning candidates are believed to include Houston Astros bench coach Cecil Cooper and Chicago White Sox third base coach Joey Cora, Atlanta Braves hitting coach Terry Pendleton as well as former managers Joe Girardi (Marlins), Dusty Baker (Cubs, Giants), and Tony Peña (Royals).

When you are rookie of the year candidate like Ryan Zimmerman, you get to start up your own foundation. ziMS will support families with multiple sclerosis. Zimmerman’s mother Cheryl was diagnosed with it in 1995. No Web site to link to yet (so far as I know).
