Tickets to this Saturday’s Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Temple Owls at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia are still available. You can order them from Ticketmaster or if you don’t feel like paying an additional 10% or more in “convenience fees” or whatever euphemism they are using this month, you probably have a good shot at: 1) Groupon or Living Social offering tickets in the next couple of days 2) Buying them at the ticket window on Saturday.
I am kind of surprised and disappointed in the Nittany Nation for not buying up all the tickets yet. For a great many of us, this is way more accessible than Happy Valley. Is it the same as seeing Penn State in Beaver Stadium? No, of course not, but going on the road with your team has its own appeal as well. Particularly when the majority of the crowd is cheering the same team as you. Additionally, there are nice comfortable seats at the Link and some people really enjoy being able to buy a beer in the stadium. Through in paved lots for tailgating and it gets downright decadent.
When Penn State played there 4 years ago, the stadium sold out and set a record for highest MAC attendance ever:

So, why aren’t you going?
UPDATE 8:25 p.m. 09.13.2011: @MarkWogenrichTemple says more than 50,000 tickets sold for #PennState’s visit Saturday. Lincoln Financial holds 68,000, so plenty of seats available.
