Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Temple Owls
On Saturday Penn State will play its first game without Joe Paterno on the sidelines since 1977. Many of the readers of this blog weren’t even born yet. Anyhow, I’ve covered his situation plenty, so I won’t dwell on it. This week’s opponent is a good one for a team without a head coach — Temple!

LAST WEEK
Penn State couldn’t get going offensely, falling 13-3 to Wisconsin. It was a completely uneventful game. More
THIS WEEK’S OPPONENT: TEMPLE OWLS
Yup, it’s Temple. That kind of says it all, doesn’t it? They have a bunch of Penn Staters on the coaching staff, including Al Golden in the #1 spot. They stink, as they always have and are lucky to be in I-A. They hope to be the next Rutgers I suppose. Until then, they are Temple. At least they went back to their smart looking T helmets.

PRESS CONFERENCE
IMPORTANT ARTICLES
I posted most of them already this week.
BEANO WATCH
Carroll H. Cook (Pitt ’54) has lost interest in Penn State.
TELEVISION
ESPN Regional/GamePlan/Plus/etc. has the game so some markets might have to order it PPV or go to a bar. It is suppossed to be broadcast by MASN, Peter Angelo$’ network, in the D.C./Balmer area. The last time MASN “broadcasted” the game there was no sound. That might be good enough for Baltimorons, but Washingtonians expect a little more.

PREDICTIONS
Penn State simply has superior athletes to Temple, so mark it down as a 34-10 win.
IN CLOSING
Go STATE, beat Temple!
