Soriano Headed To Cubs – The Post
The Cubs just signed Alfonso Soriano to “an eight-year, $136 million deal with the Chicago Cubs.” They also included a no trade clause.
Suckers!
Sure, they may get a few years of production similar to 2005 from Soriano, but I even doubt that will happen. Last season was an aberration, he is likely going to revert to his pre-2005 form sooner than later. When is it a good idea to sign 31 year-old players to massive eight year contracts with no trade clauses?
The Nats will get one first round pick and a sandwich pick for compensation. Thanks for the memories Alfonso!
