Looking to upgrade blog software

A recent rash of comment spam (which should be corrected) and more outages this morning/lunchtime has me thinking about switching the software that powers William World News. I was hoping to hold out for Blogger Beta, but I am growing a little impatient waiting for that to be made available to non-blogspot users.

Features I am looking for include:

  • An easy way to import my existing content
  • categories (just about every site other than Blogger has them)
  • The ability to edit the categories of multiple entries
  • A spell check that doesn’t flag “blog” as a mispelling*

    Let me know if Blogger Beta has these features, I can probably hold out if it does. If it does not I am going to look around for new software. Through Metroblogging DC, I am familiar with MovableType, which is okay, but lacks the multiedit feature I want. Does anybody know of blogging software that does have all of those features?

    * That of course becomes a moot point once I get around to a.) installing the Performancing extension b.) upgrade to Firefox 2
