It took 115 minutes, almost 3 full overtimes, of hockey for the New York Rangers to defeat the Washington Capitals. Just brutal. The longest game in Verizon Center history too.
In the first overtime, Troy Brouwer shot wide from about 5 feet away after a great Matt Hendricks hit freed the puck. Alex Ovechkin hit the post, triggering the goal horn, but for naught. I gave up after one overtime and went to bed.
Game 4 is Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in D.C.
