Lady Lions to wear original color

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; January 18, 2007 — Head coach Rene Portland and the Lady Lions will be hosting the first-ever Think Pink Day presented by the Barash Group when the Lady Lions face the Wisconsin Badgers on Sunday, February 4 at 2 p.m., at the Bryce Jordan Center. The Lady Lions, who will be wearing special Think Pink Day uniforms, encourage all fans in attendance to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness. All funds raised from the Think Pink Day event will go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition and the Penn State Breast Cancer Awareness Club.

Penn State’s original colors were pink and black. Thankfully, that only lasted a single baseball season back in the 1880s. Those uniforms faded to look blue and white and the rest of is history.
