This week, Washington Nationals left fielder Bryce Harper has:
Been on the cover of ESPN Magazine:
So was Robert Griffin III (DC Sports Bog, The Post) beware the cover jinx!
Had a ball bounce out of his glove and over the wall for home run (to a pitcher!) – Nats Enquirer
Gotten hurt checking his swing, crashing into the wall trying to catch that homer.
Come out FOR The Wave, possibly wrestled a teammate over it:
I just wrestled Bryce and I won #killthewave #stirthepot #desiisnxt

Which is interesting given that he’s hurt…
Been the subject of a Jess Atkinson (former Redskins kicker, TV sports anchor) produced documentary that ran on ESPN called “Bryce Begins”
Had a car insurance commercial debut – Nats Enquirer
Swung and missed against Bob Gibson in animated GIF form – FTW – USA Today
Lost 3 games in a row, before last night’s win
So, Harper has been busy. Now, he needs to rest up and get better. I love watching him play and understand why there is so much interest in him, but maybe a little karma came his way. Not even of his own invention either, let’s ALL settle down.
By the way, anybody know what athletic wear company sponsors Harper?
A correction has been made to this post, courtesy of @ouji. My personal bias got onto the keyboard. #killthewave
