The annual Big11Ten Media Days are going on right now. Here is the PSU news summary of the event:
- Dan Connor, Terrell Golden and Anthony Morelli are representing the team in Chicago.
- Media picks for conference standings: 1.) Michigan 2.) Ohio State 3.) Wisconsin. In other words, the Nittany Lions probably just found a chip to put on their shoulder. I’m fine with these rankings.
- Update your links! Intercollegiate Athletics has a new Web site, powered by CSTV.com, ending an eight year run with WinMill Software. The new design is 1140 pixels wide. The footbal page has a new URL too.
- Joe Paterno is still limping, but from overcompensating with his good leg instead of the injured one.
- Paterno said he thought about staying in the box to coach, but I think he was just trying to get the sportswriters worked up.
- S Anthony Scirrotto and DL Chris Baker will not be disciplined by Paterno until after their trials have concluded. Others may face Paterno’s wrath as well.
- The Big11Ten is not in any hurry to expand, so sorry Dave Jones (Patriot-News), Texas or Florida probably won’t be joining. Neither will Pitt or West Virginia, methinks since no new TV markets would be added. A better bet would be Mizzou, Rutgers or Syracuse. The ultimate goal is Notre Dame of course, but they have no incentive.
