#12 Penn State Nittany Lions 45 vs. Buffalo Bulls 21
Nobody will ever confuse Buffalo with a test, but maybe they were a quiz. They held Penn State to three points for about the first 27 minutes of the game. They passed the ball fairly well and showed that they were the best football team Penn State has faced this season.
Another slow start for the offense — 2 early fumbles by Austin Scott, who is pretty close to being declared a bust, and erratic passing by Anthony Morelli. The senior quarterback seemed to settle down when Andrew Quarles entered the game. Rodney Kinlaw had a career day running the ball, but he probably isn’t the answer. Where was Evan Royster?
The defense was solid, but not as perfect as previous weeks. Dan Connor and Sean Lee both had 12 tackles. Buffalo was more successful throwing the ball than the two previous opponents and even completed a couple of passes on Justin King. In the fourth quarter, the second team defense gave up touchdowns which may fire up the squad for next week.
Overall, I think and hope this game was a bit of a wake-up call for the squad.
