ALEXANDRIA, Va. — While this Nor’easter didn’t deliver the huge totals that we thought we’d get it still closed schools and gave us a rare winter 2016-2017 accumulation. I measured 2 inches at about 12:30 in the West End. I think we probably got more snowfall, but the sleet weighed it down. It’s white mud out there now. The cars only took about 10 minutes each to clean off.

The only other times I got out the yard stick this winter was a mere 1 ¼ on January 30 and an inch on January 7.
