This week, Carroll H. Cook (’54 Pitt) spoke a lot about Penn State in his chat, but was he reallying saying anything?
Ben Lilly(annapolis,md): Beano, Who was your championship prediction at the beginning of the season, I remember it was Penn State beating someone but can’t remember who? You should get yourself into the 21st century and realize if Penn State Played WVU 100 times WVu would win 90 of those games.
SportsNation Beano Cook: LSU over Penn State.
SportsNation Beano Cook: As far as I know nobody had West Virginia vs. Missouri in the title game. If they did, please give me their phone number
West-by-god-Virginia beating Penn State 90% of the time — that doesn’t compute…
Chris (Buffalo, NY): Beano, I’m not gonna lie. At first, I thought you were a nice guy, with an open mind and a good idea as to what college football was about. Unfortunately, after reading some of the responses to these questions, I have to say it; you are completely againts the Big East, WVU, and a lot of other up and coming schools. WVU has been in the national spotlight for over 5 years now and ranked for 3. Enough is enough, they are becoming a powerhouse. Yes, in your generation, Penn State was a great team, but you know what? Penn State is on a decline right now. Look at the now bud, and stop paying attention to tradition. Because tradition means nothing in the present time.
SportsNation Beano Cook: I have one word for you — NONSENSE.Andy (State College): For the record, the all-time series between Penn State and WVU is 48 wins for PSU, 9 wins for WVU, and 2 ties. Don’t get too full of yourself during a decent period in your team history.
SportsNation Beano Cook: Hmmm…
You tell ’em Andy. Um, thanks Beano?
Mike (Altoona, PA): Do you think Tom Bradley is a canidate for any of these job openings or is he waiting for the PSU job?
SportsNation Beano Cook: Bradley will be the next coach at Penn State. Sometime in the 22nd century.
Didn’t Beano say last week it wouldn’t happen?
Chad Arlington, TX: What is the short term outlook for Coach Paterno and do they (PSU) stay in the family when teh time comes to replace him?
SportsNation Beano Cook: I personally said last April that Paterno would coach two more years. I think Tom Bradley would get a crack at being the head coach. People close to Penn State tell me that won’t happen, though.
So which is it Beano? This is just another example of why I do Beano Watch every week.
