Zimmerman poised for breakout season – The Wash. Times
You almost have to wonder if the weight of expectations, some unreasonable (nationals.com), will be too much for 3B Ryan Zimmerman. I am not convinced he will be a superstar. I don’t mean that to get down on him, I just want to manage expectations. He is very good, but will he be great?
Lo Duca Is a Breed of Catcher That the Nats Find Appealing – The Post
When he’s not taking care of Nationals’ NCAA pool, Lo Duca can’t wait for opener – AP via SI
The long-awaited Paul Lo Duca profile. Who knows, Mr. “I’m sorry, but I won’t say why” may actually catch some games for the club this year. He owns a racehorse too.
The only interesting part of the article was this quote: “This is kind of like going back to the minor leagues for me,” Lo Duca said. “Guys hang out, have a couple of beers, and talk about baseball. It’s not everyone living 30 minutes away from the park and never seeing each other.”
There is something to be said for that, isn’t there?
Lo Duca is also running the NCAA pool. Between that and the ponies and phillies (Capital Punishment) I can’t help but wonder if Lo Duca knows Gamblor.

Lastly, RHP Jason Bergmann is throwing his sinker again.
