AMAZIN’ STOPPER – NY Post
When facing an ace like Johan Santana, you can’t really expect to win with someone like Tim Redding on the mound, can you? Of course, not, you need a pitcher like Levale Speigner to get it done. Sure, Santana and Redding were contemporaries — they played for Michigan Battle Cats, a team whose name and logo were inspired by He-Man’s green liger (or something), back in the day, but that is were the similarity ends.
In truth, Redding just about gave the Nats a chance to win, giving up three runs over 5+. The Nats came undone in the sixth with a 3B Ryan Zimmerman throwing error allowing Ryan Church to get to third and Carlos Beltran to score. It just got worse from there.
