Today is great day, one we never thought would come. Erica and I will be hopping onto Metro in a few hours to see a D.C. baseball team play for the first time in three decades. This one may not count in the standings, but it counts because it is happening. I should have a photo gallery up this evening.

Also, I have an extra ticket (from ebay) for tomorrow’s opener in Philly. E-mail me if you are interested or track me down at the game today. We will be in section 532, but might be moving around if we can.

Ready to play at RFKThe Wash. Times
We will see just how ready in a few hours. Hopefully, all the water drained well.

For the Nationals, a Chaotic Journey HomeThe Post
Labyrinth of Political Challenges Preceded Today’s Debut at RFK
Another “how we got here” article. The Expos were Virginia’s to lose, thankfully they did. Going out to Loudoun County would have stunk.

Wilkerson Is a Man On MoveThe Post
Barry Svrluga reminds Brad Wilkerson is amazing, he can play any position or any sport for that matter. Since no one else has stepped up, Wilkerson will probably be our leadoff man, even though he probably belongs at fifth in the batting order.

Robinson setting 90 wins as goalThe Wash. Times
Goals are great. Eighty-one wins would be phenomanal as far as I am concerned.

TV Schedule For Nats Has ‘Flexibility’The Post
It is easy for WDCA-TV to have flexibility when half of the games are not televised, they can move them around all they want. I wonder if WDCA will end up buying more than their 76 games while we wait for a cable deal. That seems more likely than Comcast making space for a channel they thought they would have a stake in. I’m not faulting Comcast on this one either, we know who the devil is in these matters.

Proctor returns as Nats’ TV guyThe Wash. Times
It’s odd Proctor is back, seeing as Peter Angelo$ ran him out of Baltimore years ago. My recollection is that he is solid.

Delayed Delivery of Some Season Tickets Frustrates Nationals FansThe Post
I’d be annoyed too, but what are you going to do? This sort of thing probably happens in a good year too.

Better late than neverThe Wash. Times
A look at former Senators who will be involved in the return of the Nats. Naturally, Charlie Brotman is included in the article. Something tells me we are going to hear a lot more from him really soon.
