Flores playing well; Kearns out 3-4

Nationals may go with the ‘Flo’The Wash. Times
Flores showing Nats his future is nowThe Free Lance-Star
After a solid 2007 season, a lot of Nats fans hoped Jesus Flores would stay in the big leagues after Brian Schneider was traded. The Nats had other ideas, preferring to keep him in the minors so he could play reguarly. That plan has been foiled by injuries to new catchers Paul Lo Duca and Johnny Estrada. Nobody is complaining though, Lo Duca has been awful and seems to be going out of his way to be the least likable National ever even when he is injured. Estrada has also been hurt, so Flores is up here playing well. It will not be easy to send him back down should the other catchers return.

Hill Has Found That Pitching Is a Pain-Taking ProcessThe Post
Being Shawn Hill means pain. He played t-ball with a broken leg and now as a major league pitcher, he is constantly battling injuries. He can pitch through pain fairly effectively, but one can not help but wonder what he could do if he was not hurting. One also wonders why his forearm hurts so much in the first place, no one has been able to determine the cause.
