Zimmerman to Miss At Least Four Weeks – The Post
Zimmerman is out at least four to six weeks – The Wash. Times
Ryan Zimmerman is the latest National to go from having a “day-to-day” injury to an extended stay on the DL. His out for another 4-6 weeks (don’t forget he has not played for two weeks) and may be gone for the whole year.

This is obviously frustrating in and of itself, but even more so because it follows a trend:

  • Player gets hurt
  • Team says player is day-to-day
  • Player does not return in timely manner
  • Player added to DL, retroactive to ten days ago
  • Player stays on DL longer than 15-days
  • Player neeeds surgery, lost for season

    Does this happen because the PR machine is responsible for all the day-to-day announcements or is the medical staff underestimating injuries? Perhaps both are involved, but either way, this just makes fans cynical about the team and injuries.

    In other news, the Nats lost to Pittsburgh, 3-1, last night, wasting another quality John Lannan start. Oh and Manny Acta and Elijah Dukes worked out their differences whatever they may or may not have been, so ya, we’ll never see any problems again ever.
