Nationals Get Stuck In the Mud – The Post
What a dreadful loss. The Nats had a shutout for a rain soaked 8 2/3 innings, thanks largely in part to John Patterson, who is the ace of the staff right now. However, in the 9th, Chad Cordero loaded the bases, but got two outs. So, on a 2 – 0, he gets a ground ball to shortshop. Cristian Guzman throws it away, two runs score and the Braves go on to win. It was awful. I don’t care who wet it was, this guy — who is being outhit by 3 pitchers on the staff, has to make the play because defense is the only reason he gets to play.
To add insult to injury, I was on the phone with someone who likes the Braves at the time. D’oh! Hopefully, the Nats can recover tonight, in Queens vs. the Mets.

Comcast Sues Orioles Over Television Rights – The Post
For the first time ever, I think I am on the side of Comcast. This is a nasty ordeal that was created by Peter Angelo$, don’t be surprised if MASN Channel 20 games from appearing on Comcast. They deny that now, but we now how good the word of an Angelo$ backed entity is, no don’t we? For the foreseeable future, the best option is MLB.TV.

Weekday Afternoon Game Lures Fans With Excuses
There is no way that anybody in my office would have believed any excuse I could have given.
Years ago, I did play hooky (using the old “family business” permission slip) to go to an exhibition game at RFK between the Yankees and Mets. Frank Howard’s #33 was “retired,” but the game was rained out. Thanks for pulling us out of school Dad.

Anybody surprised? Why does Angelo$ get a subsidy again?!
Overheard at RFK: On Wednesday night, I heard someone with ties to Fred Malek’s group say that negociations to merge with Stan Kasten’s group could begin next week.
