When to play hooky: Nats have a few days games in ’09

The Nationals 2009 preliminary schedule has been released. After having no weekday day games in ’08, they have a few scheduled in 2009, including Opening Day. Here is a list of days when you ought to call out sick, “borrow” your friend’s dad’s classic convertible and drive in the District to catch a game, go up in the Washington monument, eat a fancy lunch and visit the National Gallery of Art:

Monday, April 13 vs. Philadelphia, 3:05 p.m.
Tuesday, May 5 vs. Houson 12:35 p.m.
Thursday, April 6 vs. Florida 12:35 p.m.
Thursday, June 11 vs. Cincinatti 4:35 p.m.
Monday, August 24 vs. Milwaukee 4:35 p.m.
Wednesday, September 30 vs. New York Mets 4:35 p.m.

There are also a few Saturday afternoon games:

Saturday, April 18 vs. Florida 1:05 p.m.
Saturday, May 5 vs. St. Louis 1:05 p.m.
Saturday, September 26 vs. Atlanta 1:05 p.m.

July 4, a Saturday, remains TBA but it will almost certainly be a day game, probably no later than 1:35 p.m.
