As a Rule, Things Don’t Go Nats’ Way – The Post
I did not get to see or listen to much of the game, but I was home in time to watch the extra innings. In the bottom of the 13th, Mel Proctor said “Jon Rauch has not given up a hit in six innings.” Sure enough, on the next pitch, San Francisco’s Jason Ellison get an infield single. I hate it when that happens. Omar Vizquel than doubled Ellison home and the game was over.
Earlier, the Giants scored two runs on controversial calls. Nationals Manager Frank Robinson: “I look at it as they scored two runs and they beat us in a ballgame when we scored three runs.”
The Nats still won the series and are 4 – 2 on their west coast trip so far. Next up, Arizona.
