Olsen Pitches Nationals to Victory Over Braves – The Post
Olsen stays the Braves – The Wash. Times
The Nats got a series victory for the first time in a while by winning on Saturday and Sunday. Improved starting pitching was a big factor as American hero John Lannan went eight innings on Independence Day and Scott Olsen went 8 2/3’s yesterday. Scoring five runs doesn’t hurt either.
It must have been Manny Acta’s pep talk (The Wash. Times).
Mike McDougal is solidifying his position as a Chad Cordero closer — every save is an adventure. Of course, that is an improvement over Joel Hanrahan who had the adventures without the saves.
