Lannan earns first shutout – The Wash. Times
P John Lannan ended the Nats six game losing streak with his first career shutout in a 4-0 win over the visiting New York Mets. Lannan is the first Washington pitcher to go the distance without allowing a run since Pedro Astachio (remember him?) did on August 15, 2006. It was also the first victory for Jim Riggleman as Nationals manager.
Still Not Cleared to Play, Flores Waits in Vain – The Post
C Jesus Flores is at least three weeks away from beginning rehab on his right shoulder. He has been out of action since May 9 with a stress fracture. He is still spending time at the ballpark in addition to improving his English.

Matt LeCroy, member of the 2006 Nationals, is managing the Hagerstown Suns, the Nats South Atlantic League (A) affiliate. After that 2006 season, he was offered a job managing in the minors by the Nats, but he elected to keep playing. This time, after playing in an independent league last year, he accepted.
