Nats have a lot to do this offseason

Nationals Prepare for Offseason MakeoverThe Post

The Nationals need to find an assistant GM, farm director and more scouts. They also need to decide who their manager is going to be for 2010. Other decisions — whether to offer Scott Olsen, who was not very good before having arm surgery, arbitration. I see go for it on that front. As for retaining Jim Riggelman, I’m not sure. My main concern is the management of young pitchers and seeing what happened to Kerry Wood under Riggelman’s watch does not inspire confidence. They need to bring in at least one veteran pitcher, probably two, as well.
