TOWN & GOWN FOOTBALL ANNUAL

I have already read the 2005 Town & Gown Football Annual, a must-have for every Penn State football fan. Normally I wait until August before buying it, but since I am not likely to be up in Happy Valley before football season, I grabbed it early.

This year’s edition is much like most others, though there are fewer coaches profiles. The Neil Rudel article with ten questions about Penn State football has over 20 this year. There is also a big feature story on frosh would-be phenoms Derrick Williams and Justin King. Otherwise it is pretty much the same as always. The predictions from FA contributors are all for winnings seasons, but was largely the case last year too.

The one thing that jumped out the most to me was that the end zone’s will be painted with block letters for the first time since 1982. While it is not a really big deal, I still prefer the most recent incarnation with the oval lion logo and Penn State stencil font.
