At Penn Station, the sign no longer goes clackety-clack – The Sun
Remember those great analog departure/arrival boards at airports and train stations? It turns out they were called Solari boards and some still exist. There is one less in operation though — Baltimore’s Penn Station was just removed from service. Philadelphia’s 30th Street station as well as Providence, R.I. still have them.
I remember the Solari board at Dulles Airport was huge, though I’m guessing Penn Station New York probably had the biggest.
