CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Despite disliking Harvard (son of Yalie that I am) I like visiting Harvard Square. The Ombudsman works there and I spent some time there enjoying the early spring weather and more. The neighborhood is of course bustling with people, shops, restaurants, buskers and more. It is safe say that the Ombudsman works in a more colorful and walkable neighborhood than I do.
While I was there, waiting for the Ombudsman to get off work, I walked around, shot photos, had a beer at the very local Whitney’s, munched on some fries from , popped into Out of Town News and the Curious George book shop. The later is on the ground floor of CarTalk Plaza or more accurately, directly below the offices of Dewey, Cheatum and Howe. Once the Ombudsman got off from work, we dined at Grafton Street which is kind of a high end pub. I had fish n’ chips on account of it being Lent and they were quite good. A walk through the attractive, but unspectacular Harvard campus followed. Yale has a more impressive campus. It can be argued my alma mater, Penn State, does too. Nothing to be ashamed of Cantabs, just the way it is.
