A recent conversation between me and my better half…
Me: Overtime has begun
Wife: I’ll be there in a minute
Me: Don’t worry, its over.
Nickalas Backstrom‘s hat trick saved the day and helped the Washington Capitals come back from a 4-1 deficit to the Montréal Canadiens in game 2 of round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The series is tied at one and headed to Montréal for Monday’s game 3. Alex Ovechkin scored a goal and had three assists. John Carlson (who had the gamewinner against Canada in the World Juniors this year) tied it up with 1:21 to go in the third period to force OT. Jose Theodore got pulled in favor of Semyon Varlamov again.
My son was on to something when he picked a Backstrom t-shirt I think. 🙂
