Nats Feeling Down and Out – The Post
Remember the first part of the season when P Esteban Loaiza was getting no run support? Those days are back.
I missed the game, so I think I was one of the lucky ones, it sound like it was ugly.
Preston Wilson homered in the ninth though, to get within one run.
Tonight, I am planning on being at the game, along with a few friends and my wife. We will be in the cheap seats of 551. The last time we went to a game, the Nats beat Pedro Martinez. Hopefully, we will see that kind of performance tonight.

Numbers Marking Home Run Distance at RFK Corrected
A couple of days ago, beat writer Barry Srvluga teased us that he and columnist Tom Boswell were “sent to the principal’s office” for getting on the field and measuring the distance to the outfield wall. Naturally, the front office did not care for that, but the two Posties had forced their hand. A surveyor was hired to measure the distances and confirmed the suspicion of many Nats players that the fences were incorrect. The power alley in left was 394.74 feet, while the one in left was 395 feet.
Hernandez allows his frustration to show – The Wash. Times
Thom Loverro wrote the best lead, so his article gets top billing:

#61 calmly explained himself yesterday afternoon, but only after he ranted at the media for the portrayal of Wednesday’s tirade.
But wait, there’s more!

Nationals primed for World Series, says Bowden – Reuters
This is two days old, but still interesting. Jim Bowden said, “With no more player moves, we can win the World Series. I didn’t say the division. I said the World Series.” I will let you digest that for yourself.

Superstitious Nats Devotees Pin Losses on Fair-Weather Element in the Stands
The Nats Fan Club knows why the Nats are losing — too many people jumping on the Nats bandwagon. I don’t have time to share why I think this attitude is stupid and self-serving.
