With the win, Philadelphia pull into a tie with Houston for the Wild Card spot. The Nats remain, 1/2 a game behind them and 5 1/2 behind Atlanta. Today they have a chance to pull ahead of both with a day-night doubleheader (The Inky). First game is at 1:05, the second one at 7:05.

O’s, Nats battle over Harrisburg – The Wash. Times
I have covered the battle for Harrisburg between the Nats and Peter Angelo$ previously. When we lasted checked in, Baltimore’s AAA team was expected to move to Allentown, but it now sounds like Angelo$ is working with Harrisburg to put AAA baseball in Pennsylvania’s capital. Holding up the deal are the Nationals, who are currently aligned with the AA Senators.
Harrisburg, Ottawa’s owner (Baltimore’s AAA team) and Angelo$ are frusturated by the situation. Angelo$ has even tried to get MLB to intervene, but to their credit, they have stayed away. Allentown is still expected to get the AAA franchise, though probably not as an Orioles affiliate.
I propose a solution to this problem — Angelo$ can have Harrisburg for AAA if the Nats can have their TV rights back. Otherwise, I think the Nats should keep their AA team in Harrisburg.
JIM BOWDEN – Top pick Zimmerman to play shortstop – The Wash. Examiner
The all-knowing Jim Bowden has decided that this year’s first round pick, Dutch Zimmerman will come up this year, getting his arbitration clock going a year early. Not only that, he will be doing so at a new position, shortstop. We can also expect to see Marlon Byrd back as well as position players Tyrell Godwin, Kenny Kelly, Kevin Orie, Juan Melo and Brendan Harris, catcher Keith Osik and pitchers Bill Bray, Matt White, Travis Hughes, Jason Bergmann and C.J. Nitkowski. No mention of Rick Short though.Nationals’ mascot has best friend from Philly – Philly Daily News
