Capitals 3 Blue Jackets 2

Ovechkin Starts Off With a BangThe Post
WASHINGTON, D.C. — What a debut for Alex Ovechkin! He scored two goals (right after Columbus scores too) and hit a Blue Jacket into the boards hard enough to damage them (20 seconds into the game). Said one long-time Caps season ticketholder: “Ovechkin is the best player the Caps have ever had.”

Goaltender Olie Kolzig had 35 saves in a stellar effort. Team captain Jeff Halpern had three assists too. Caps Pass the Test In League’s Return even has a column about it too, as does Dan Daly at The Wash. Times A good opening night!

Erica and I went to the game last night and had a great time, more on that later.
