While the Nationals did well at the box office, many of the tickets they sold were not used. This meant fewer people were buying beer and hot dogs, which wound up costing the District sales tax revenue. Another thing that cost them sales tax revenue — long lines. Not surprisingly, Andrian Fenty is not amused.
Of course, this will probably be offset by all the new development that the ballpark will encourage.
