Ballpark design revealed and team name secured

It is a big day for the Nationals, so naturally I am home sick. I guess no good weekend goes unpunished. Anyhow, the big news is the ballpark design has been revealed (The Post). It is coming off as pretty bland and I am not crazy about using concrete instead of limestone, but I understand the reasons.

Some more initial thoughts:

  • Somewhere, there needs to be an iconic interlocking DC on the exterior.
  • I don’t like the parking garages behind the outfield
  • I like the blue seats
  • I like the dimensions
  • Hopefully a scale model will be displayed in a prominent public location so that we can see what it will really look like
