Coming out of the bye week (which was favored by 4, Penn State eeked out the win) the Nittany Lions travel to Minnesota to take on the Golden Gophers in their 2 year old TCF Bank Stadium. This is an improvement from the Metrodome because it is outside, but Minnesota is yet another one of the Big Ten teams that shamefully have a carpet instead of grass on their field.<\/p>\n
Minnesota just fired their coach and are 1-6. They have no defense, but a decent quarterback and an offense that can move the ball. With that in mind, I expect they will play with some intensity and not roll over. However, with two weeks to get yelled at, prepare and get healthy, Penn State will probably be able to withstand Minnesota. I expect the Nittany Lions to throw the ball deep and frequently to take advantage of the porous Gopher secondary. I think the Penn State defense will be improved with Mike Mauti and Gerald Hodges back at linebacker.<\/p>\n
