I don’t know that it is a consensus, but yesterday’s Washington Redskins vs. Chicago Bears game thoroughly entertained me. Once again, the Redskins won by a slim margin, but atypically (for this season at least) the game was not decided on the final play. It was decided a few plays earlier. The Redskins have been pretty exciting this year and now sit atop the division again at 4-3.<\/p>\n
Donovan McNabb<\/strong> did not have a great day, victimized by drops early and then by the Bears pass rush later in the game. However, I think he showed why he is preferable to Jay Cutler<\/strong>, another QB the Redskins coveted in the recent past. Actually, Cutler showed why ANYONE is a better option after throwing 4 interceptions to DeAngelo Hall<\/strong>, including one returned for a 92 yard touchdown. Footage of Cutler in the red zone is a snuff film. They had six turnovers which made the Redskins 3 (including a McNabb pick-six) seem like nothing.<\/p>\n It was pretty funny listening to Troy Aikman<\/strong> keep saying that the Bears needed to put a double-move on Hall. The Bears never did and Hall got four picks. Also, Hall was allegedly fighting with defensive coordinator Jim Haslett<\/strong> during the week. They need to do that every week. Also, Aikman thinks two knees down in the end zone is excessive celebration, while one is not. So, 1 knee = 15 yards?<\/p>\n I approve of passes bouncing off of LaRon Landry<\/strong>‘s helmet and into the arms of an offensive lineman 10 yards upfield.<\/p>\n RB Ryan Torain<\/strong> is enjoyable to watch, though the fumble was troubling. Good job by Mike Shanahan<\/strong> finding him.<\/p>\n K Graham Gano<\/strong> did something I had never seen done before yesterday — he kicked a ball onto the top of the upright. Good job by FOX getting the THUD. My father had never seen that either.<\/p>\n Good job on the instant replay challenges Lovie Smith<\/strong>! Lose a yard and timeout on one, skip the other and lose possession.<\/p>\n By the way, it is good to see the many of the Bears wear jerseys with sleeves.
