Not Quite a Rivalry, But in the Neighborhood<\/b><\/a> – The Post<\/i>
The Senators and Orioles never had much of a rivalry; and based on ticket sales, the Nats and O’s don’t either…yet.<\/p>\n

Sluggish ticket sales for this weekend’s series — which may not draw more than 30,000 fans to any of the three games — suggest fans do not see Orioles-Nationals as a rivalry yet. But the attendance figures will be huge compared with what the Orioles and Senators drew in 1971.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Color me disappointed. Here is what I had to say on Metroblogging yesterday<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

Since we cannot each lock Angelo$ in a room and yell at him (“I want my Nats TV!” “why are you such a cowardly businessman?!” “How is your friend Fidel doing?”) until he cries, we just have to settle for loudly cheering the team he has tried to kill in the crib, and boo his team. Every time an Oriole comes to the plate, boo them. Boo their fans when they yell “OOOOOOOOOO” during the National anthem. Boo them all the time. Chant ANN-NA, ANN-NA when Birds pitcher Kris Benson is on the mound Friday night.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
