My Yankees want to build a new stadium right next to The House That Ruth Built. It is an interesting proposal and keeps them in the borough they belong and not a Turnpike exit, which was threatened for many years. While the plan sounds pretty good, I am still not eager to see the greatest venue for sports in the history of the republic to be replaced. While I was an undergraduate at PSU, the Pennsylvania legislature banned alcohol related advertising in college newspapers. They thought they could reduce college alcoholism this way. While it was flattering that they thought newspapers were so influential (they are not), the law was simply asinine. In fact, I wrote a letter to the editor<\/b><\/a> of The Collegian<\/i> about it, full of the Orwellian imagery I insisted on using for a few years there.<\/p>\n
